Haul || Wednesday 22nd August
Two posts in one day, I'm on a roll! Anyway, I decided to hop on a bus into town after work to pick up a few things I've been needing (or wanting) and thought I would share them with you!
Got myself a new razor, my current one seems to miss about 50% of the hair...got some blades to go with it too, exciting stuff: |
If you have read my post on products I've used up (read it HERE) then you would know, shocking as it is, that I did indeed need a new one of these, so here it is. |
Finally picked up a hair doughnut wooo! Only £1 from Savers! |
Blistex is an absolute saviour for dry lips, and is also a medical product for coldsores and other nasty lip problems. |

Products Used Up || August
So the title of this post is a little misleading, seeing as this is the first type of "Products Used Up" post, some of them were actually used up before August but from now on they will be reflective of the month in the title.
The first product is the Body Shop Body Butter; in the coconut 'flavour' (can't think of the right word...?) I have had this product for probably more than six months now and have only just finished it (today actually!) so it lasts a reallyyyy long time. Due to the thick, creamy consistency which is (funnily enough) like the consistency of butter, it is really great for dry skin. I have always suffered from particularly bad dry skin; having severe eczema when I was a baby (attractive I know) and still having dry skin problems now, so this product has been a bit of a saviour for me! Of course, it isn't really meant to be used on your face so I would just stick to using it on your body- preferably when you get out of the shower (or bath, whatever floats your boat). So overall, this was a really great buy and I would definitely recommend it!
Next up is a product that I actually bought as a bit of an impulse buy- Neutrogena's Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash and Mask. However I was not dissapointed at all with this product, it has helped to visibly reduce my spots and also helps to remove some redness as well. The consistency reminds me of clay, which I guess is why it can also be used as a mask. This is something that isn't so great for the dry areas of my face but a good moisteriser afterwards solves that :)
Another empty product I found in my room (makes me wonder why I was keeping these..?) is the Tresemme Dry Shampoo. I wouldn't say there was a HUGE difference between this and the Batiste dry shampoo; the Batiste is much cheaper which is always good. However, I did notice that the Tresemme product doesn't leave behind as much of a white powder in your hair as the Batiste sometimes does, but I'm not really sure if this is enough to justifying buying it again. It's great if you don't mind spending a little more money though!

Review of ‘”Pro:Voke” touch of silver’ shampoo
After experiencing some rather undesirable brassy tones in
my hair as a result of too much blonde hair dye, I frantically searched Boots’
website for some way of banishing the brassiness. I have to admit I was a
little sceptical of this product due to the price; as much as I wish cheap
products were as effective as expensive ones, it isn’t often the case. Luckily,
however, I had saved up enough points on my advantage card (woo for loyalty
cards) to pay for the product with them- therefore justifying the purchase if
it didn’t do the job!
So, the next day I
stood with my head tipped over the bath (classy I know) and was slightly
terrified of the runny, vibrant purple liquid that came out of the bottle, but
held my breath and massaged it into my hair before waiting for 5 minutes as
instructed. I have to say I was not disappointed with the result; after one use
most of the brassiness was erased from my hair and it also appeared lighter- a
benefit that I was more than happy with!
A few more uses later and I can safely say this product does
a fantastic job and I would recommend it to any other brassy tone sufferers! It
is aimed at platinum blonde hair, but it worked wonders on my mid blonde hair
so I reckon anyone with blonde hair could use it. The only slightly negative
thing I can say about it is that the product is very runny so can be a bit
messy, but for the results it gives it’s definitely worth it!
I was aiming to get my hair the same colour as these extensions... With the extensions in: (sideways picture oops, but who cares?) |
